Week 4 day 11: 2/26/14

Pre-Gym thoughts: Before I went to the gym, I had my “before” pictures taken for the newsletter I am a part of and it was surprising that I look the way I looked. It gave me motivation to work hard and keep it consistent. Plus I had an amazing lunch and dinner today which was healthy!

Gym-thoughts: I stretched with Sarah and I ran on the treadmill for 1.25 miles! Best part was I didn’t feel so tired. Today was my best workout yet! I even added an extra .25 run which made it 1.50 running and .50 walking. This was a great workout! Then, I did my abs and push-ups which ended by me seeing President Loh! I think he’s creeped out by me because I kept staring at him. #SorryNotSorry

Overall thoughts: I learned a valuable lesson which is HEALTHY FOOD=GREAT WORKOUT. Really, today was amazing and eating right makes a huge difference. Plus my meals were really good today so I am getting closer to finding what I like and is healthy at the same time! :)

Week 4 day 10: 2/24/14

Pre-Gym thoughts: I’m not happy with my results this week. Working out everyday only to lose so little disappoints me. I know the reason why, it’s because of what I ate this week. Also, due to many stresses in my life, it has caused me to over eat but I will not blame my stresses but myself. But I will not let that happen to me again. I am going to work twice as hard and will not cheat while eating healthy.

Gym thoughts: My workout was extremely tiring. I could barely run my daily one mile and at times I just wanted to give up. But I kept telling myself that I would not give up, that I can do this. I was able to finish the run and right after I stretched and worked on my abs by doing sit ups, crunches and push ups. After I worked on my choreography, for my voice and movement class which was nice knowing that I had the martial arts room all to my self…for 5 seconds :P

Overall thoughts: I feel that my week results were bad was because I gave into my cravings., and even though I consider last week a failure, I don’t see it as a bad thing. I see this failure as a lesson for me, because when it comes to successes, yes it’s good to have them but you don’t learn as much compared to your failures. I am more aware of what to NOT to do for this week and make sure that I do not make the same mistakes again.

Week 3 results: Current weight 182.0: -.2lbs.

Overall weight lost: 4 lbs

Week 3 day 9: 2/21/14

I’m a day late but at least I went to the gym, right? That counts!

So i’m switching up my writing for the this entry because I’m behind on my schoolwork but it will still be a great entry!

On Friday, I went to the Ritchie Coliseum for the first time with Sarah and we were suppose to do yoga flow but we got there around 5 minutes later. So instead we went to machines and went on the step running machine.

We were on it for 25 minutes and did 2.10 miles, it went up since Tuesday. After, we played Foosball. Although it’s not a full work out, it’s Friday and we gotta add some fun to it! 

Overall, if you know you are going to be late to any group fitness class, don’t just leave if you are late. Just do something else, like running or do some weights. That’s why i enjoy going to the gym, because there is so much to do and you will never get bored!

Week 3 day 8: 12/20/14

Special edition

Today’s workout was not just a workout but was a very unexpected yet amazing experience.

Today, my friend Kasey invited me to go to Walter Reed and go Kayaking with some amazing people. Those people are veterans, active members of the military and their families.

We were in an indoor pool and we started out by swimming on a bellyak, which is a kayak you use on your belly. It reminds me of surfing but no waves. It is not easy! I tried to sit up on it, only to fall into the water. I loved it, because it really worked on my shoulders, abs and legs. 

In the beginning, we were all swimming around with our kayaks getting to know everyone, until kayak football began. The rules were like football but were changed a bit. I was caption for one team because I was new which was pretty cool, minus the fact I would be in belly playing but challenge accepted.

Swimming up and down the pool was tiring! Plus I would would always go the wrong direction and it would take a lot of energy to swim and throw at the same time. I helped score though! After awhile, one of my teammates let me us his kayak and I gave him mine. It was even worse! I thought it would be easier but instead it was tough because there was more to control compared to the bellyak.

Overall, we won the game but win or lose, I had a great time. Being able to spend time with them made my week. I didn’t plan this day but it really shows that if there is an opportunity where you can try something new, do it! You never know what to expect. I am planning to go this Sunday at my gym Eppley from 12-2pm since they have this great program at my school. Out of the workouts I have done so far this one is by far my favorite :)
